Born to Entertain
Some people are natural entertainers.
From an early age, Sridhar “Sri” Rangaswamy discovered that he loved making people laugh, inspiring audiences, and bringing people together. Whether on stage, behind a microphone, in front of a camera, or speaking to an audience, his goal has always been the same—to leave people happier than when they arrived.
His journey from Chennai, India, to the United States is a story of perseverance, lifelong learning, and following big dreams. Along the way, he has built careers in technology, comedy, public speaking, writing, and community leadership while never losing his passion for entertaining others.
Early Acting & Theater
Sri’s entertainment journey began in India.
Between 1985 and 1986, he was selected to perform as the comedic lead in a stage production at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in Mylapore, Chennai. Family and friends filled the audience to cheer him on, making it one of his earliest and most memorable performances.
He later wrote, directed, and acted in Modern Gandhi for the Income Tax Recreation Club in Chennai. The production advanced to the finals of the Central Revenue Sports Board competition in Hyderabad, where Sri served as both scriptwriter and actor.
Comedy & Radio
After moving to the United States, Sri continued pursuing his passion for comedy.
He competed in stand-up comedy competitions in South Carolina and performed at venues including Theatre 99, The Copper Rocket, and Sak Comedy Lab.
His performances eventually led to a regular role as the featured comedian on The Jonas Mount Radio Show in Summerville, South Carolina, where he entertained listeners with a weekly two-hour comedy segment from 2012 to 2014.
He also appeared as a guest on radio programs in the Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia area, sharing humor, life experiences, and motivational stories.
Speaking & Live Events
Sri’s ability to connect with audiences extends beyond comedy.
He has spoken at corporate events, leadership programs, nonprofit organizations, educational workshops, and community gatherings, combining humor with real-life experiences to encourage others to pursue their goals.
One memorable performance was serving as the featured entertainer for an Emerson corporate holiday celebration, performing before an audience of more than 250 employees.
He has also delivered motivational presentations inspired by his own journey—from immigrating to the United States to building successful careers in technology, education, and community service.
Media & Community Leadership
Through his nonprofit organization, Sai Sharan, Inc., Sri has combined entertainment with community service.
His charitable work has been featured on Channel 13 News in Orlando during coverage of the Bombay Blast community event, where he appeared as Chairman of Sai Sharan.
His nonprofit leadership also provided opportunities to participate in national events, including a visit to the White House, reflecting his continued commitment to service and community engagement.
As an immigrant who built a successful life in America, Sri has also been invited to share his story on radio programs, discussing perseverance, education, and the importance of never giving up on your dreams.
A Passion Beyond the Stage
Entertainment has always been more than performing.
Earlier in his career, Sri coordinated youth programming for All India Radio, served as an editor for Alpha Magazine, and earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations and Advertising, further strengthening his communication and media experience.
Over the years, he has continued writing articles, publishing books, creating videos, and speaking with audiences around the world.
