OUR ALMA MATER
Ramakrishna Mission North, T. Nagar
For us, RKM North was more than a school. It was where we learned, grew, formed friendships, and developed values that stayed with us long after we left the classroom.
The school was guided by the ideals of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and the vision of Swami Vivekananda, emphasizing education, character, discipline, service, and moral values.
“Service to man is service to God.”
THE VALUES WE LEARNED
Moral Instruction — Every Thursday
Every Thursday morning, before regular classes began, students attended Moral Instruction.
These sessions focused on discipline, ethics, integrity, humility, respect, and spiritual values.
For many of us, these lessons became part of the foundation we carried into adulthood.
THE HISTORIC CLASS OF 1978
The Final 11-Year SSLC Batch
The Class of 1978 holds a unique place in the history of RKM North and in India’s education system.
We were the final graduating batch under the traditional 11-Year School System and SSLC structure before the transition to the 10 + 2 + 3 education system.
In that sense, our class became a bridge between two eras — the traditional school system we grew up with and the modern educational structure that followed.
THE PEOPLE
The Classmates Who Made It Special
What made our school years special was not only the education. It was the people.
Classmates who shared the same classrooms, teachers, school grounds, jokes, challenges, celebrations, and unforgettable moments became lifelong friends.
Nearly five decades later, those connections remain meaningful.
